Burlington Police and Fire Departments Invite Residents to Community Safety Night
Police Chief Thomas Browne and Fire Chief Michael Patterson are pleased to announce that the Burlington Police and Fire Departments will once again host a community safety night in partnership with Wegmans.
The free event is open to adults and children of all ages. Food, beverages and music will be provided courtesy of Wegmans.
This year, the event will recognize and celebrate front-line workers for their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Wegmans will offer free COVID-19 vaccinations to attendees as a way to honor the efforts of front-line workers.
Public safety personnel from Burlington and neighboring communities will be present at the event.
"This a great way for our local community members to come together and connect with each other, as well as their local public safety officials in a fun and upbeat environment," said Fire Chief Patterson. "We are so grateful to Wegmans for once again helping us to organize this event."
Attendees will have the chance to get an up-close view of police cruisers, fire trucks, ambulances and other equipment used by the town’s first responders. There will also be K-9 demonstrations.
Additionally, there will be a dunk tank at the event and residents will have the opportunity to "Dunk-a-Police-Officer."
"We are so happy to renew this annual tradition and bring so many people together to show gratitude for the efforts of all the front-line workers who answered the call during such a challenging time," said Police Chief Browne. "We encourage all residents to attend with their family and friends, and we hope to see a large turnout."
